Hi Guys, long time etc..... I know there are one or two aviation enthusiasts here. I'm not sure if any of you know that there is only one Vulcan in the world still flying, and that sadly, in a few weeks, certainly by the end of October, she will be flying no more! Her old age has caught up with her, and her airframe is out of hours. She was brought back to the air in 2007, at a restoration cost of £7million! I've been privileged to have seen her display 4 times this year, and every time I do, I get through a few kleenex, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Anyway, if anyone wants more info about her, here is her very own website, and there are many youtube videos out there too!
Zigg, do you fly? That is a nice looking delta winged aircraft. Had no idea that it was the first delta and led to the concorde and the shuttle! Very cool.

Sadly, I dont fly. I do volunteer at a couple of airbases tho, which brings me into contact with aircraft, which is really great! At one of them Bruntingthorpe, which I think was built by the USA,and had one of the longest runways in Europe at one time, they have a collection of cold war jets, totally maintained by volunteers, and kept in running condition! They arent allowed to actually fly anymore, but twice a year we have whats called a "powered taxi run" open day. where members of the public can come and see these beauties blast down the runway under full power! It's the loudest thing I ever heard in my life! Even with proper ear protection, you can feel the noise trying to tear your guts out! Absolutely fantastic!! We have a VC10, a Niimrod DC8, a Handley Page Victor, a Lightning (the loudest thing in the world, with its after burners lit up!)and many more! Good to hear from you Killian, hope youre keeping well my friend. I thought Roger might be interested too, but see that he hasn't been here for a while. Oh well, real life, eh? Take care buddy. Dave
I'm only responsible for what I say, not how you understand it.
Wow that is some aircraft. I have been away for a while. It is good to hear from you. I can't say that I am familiar with the Avro Vulcan, but I can see how that plane has a fan club. It is a beauty.
Set the heart right and everything else will follow.
